Eggmanland Weekly News Round-Up Issue #10

March 8, 2012

I’m getting too old for this…

Spiral Knights continues to be on the news as of late. If you were getting a bit tired of those same four dungeons and a Bomberman-esque mini-game, a ton of missions are now available to play. This IP is going places.

Speaking of which, SEGA prepares for the launch, of the new Yakuza game, Dead Souls, where Kazuma and friends unleash their Yakuza fury on the hordes of the undead, and here’s an insane pre-oder trailer for you all to see:

Murdering zombies while listening to a guittar riff of Star Spangled Banner with the US flag in the background? F*** Yeah!

But if you think that trailer was bizarre, then it pales in comparison to the madness that is Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Bunny, a collaboration between SEGA and indie dev Arkedo Studio, and feast your eyes on the actual trailer:

If that wasn’t insane enough, you will be happy to learn that Akira Yuki, a Virtua Fighter character will be featured in the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 game from Tecmo:

Team Ninja is trying to get more characters from Virtua Fighter lore to join in as well. It seems like an exciting idea, the last time the cast of Virtua Fighter squared off with another group of fighters was way back in the Saturn when they traded blows with the characters from Fighting Vipers, in Fighters Megamix.

As we get closer to Fall of the Samurai’s offical release date, you might want to check out some of the pre-order bonuses for the standalone expansion. There will be a boxed version and it will be available on Steam and… SEGA’s new digital store!?

Who's Bad!?Another of SEGA’s 3DS titles, Rhythm Thief and The Emperor’s Treasure is hitting stores in April 5th. A demo, oddly enough will only be out on April 19th. Black Panther 2, the sequel to the Japanese-only PSP Yakuza spin-off just got a demo yesterday.

And finally, to end on a somewhat lukewarm note, the Sonic franchise has been considered the Top Worst Gaming Blockbuster of all time, five Sonic games have been mentioned including, Sonic Adventure 2, which might be a very questionable decision.
