What does Sega have in store for 2011?

December 12, 2010

What does the House of Sonic have in store for the next year, now that 2010 draws ever closer to the end? Well, it’s got plenty of titles, the usual crop of original IPs and well as a few licensed titles:

Conduit 2 – Wii February 2011
Shogun 2: Total War – PC 15th March 2011
Super Monkey Ball 3DS (Working title) – 2011
Virtua Tennis 4 – PS3 2011
Rise of Nightmares (Kinect) – Xbox 360 2011
Yakuza 4 – PS3 Spring 2011
Thor – Spring 2011 Xbox 360/Wii/PSP/PS3/DS
Captain America: Super Soldier – PS3/Xbox 360/Wii/DS – Summer 2011

The year will start off with the big Wii title, like The Conduit 2, a must need due to the fact that this particular console has completely dried out of major releases. Shogun 2 is always the major March release for the PC market. Sega’s first 3DS title is stalted for an unspecified 2011 release, two Marvel properties continue to be Sega’s major tentpole games for the Spring/Early Summer, Thor’s game appears to appeal to the God of War crowd, while Captain America appears to take some cues from the insanely popular Batman: Arkham Asylum, can the two make it on their own? Also Yakuza 4 will likely get a March release, based on the previous iterations. Binary Domain is still TBC at this point, but Sega has not forgotten the Aliens game, which is being done by Gearbox.
