Eurogamer hands-on with Shogun 2: Total War

December 7, 2010

A lengthy and promising hands-on with Creatives Assembly’s up and coming Shogun 2: Total War has cropped up over at Eurogamer. Martin Korda takes you through his experience with an aspect of the game not to be overlooked: multiplayer.

Ian Roxburgh, multiplayer design lead for the game, explains the changes and innovations that have taken place, namely the cooperative play that has been added to the fold. It also feels a little like the team behind the game are trying to add a bit of a, shall we say ‘Halo’ feel – no it’s not going sci-fi, but, in Roxburghs words, “What we want to do is make multiplayer feel more like the essence of Total War.”

And from the many details seen in the hands-on, which you can read in full right here, it’s shaping up to be the half the armour and weaponry on this RTS samurai.
