The game’s out, but that’s not going to stop us wanting more from the coolest third-person shooter on the shelves now is it? This time a developer talks narrative design, and you learn something new everyday, because some of you might be interested to know that while the game was Japanese tailored the lead voice-acting was English.

I know there are plenty of fans with a preset bias towards the Japanese language track for whatever reason, but I really urge you to set aside your biases and try out the game in your native language. English was the lead language on Vanquish, but all of the languages were equally important to us, so don’t dismiss things as a “dub”, because you will just end up missing out on some great performances by some really talented actors. Mikami-san has already spoken about how much he loves Gideon’s voice as Sam, and I am a huge fan of Japanese voice actor’s performance for Zaitsev.

I had an idea this game was meant to appeal, but at the same time pointing fun at in subtle parody cloaked in explosions and fast-paced action, the west and our obsession with first-person shooters. Play the game, you’ll understand. You can read the whole blog here, and do check out the outtakes in the video at the top of this post.
