Dreamcast Memories: When Phantasy Star Online ruled the world!

September 10, 2010

I remember this game well. Before, broadband was commonplace, gamers had to make due with 33.6 kbps modem(56 Kbps for US gamers) to play one of the most potentially adicitive games of it’s time. While Diablo was already a staple on the PC, cooperative online gaming was still unexplored at that time. That is, when Phantasy Star Online came into the picture promising unlimted hours of level grinding. Looking at it now, it was a very basic game with very mundane tasks, but at the time there was nothing like and Dreamcast had a sense that you could live in a completely different world and be someone else. Amazin stuff, back then.
