Sega announces Virtua Tennis 4… in 3D!

August 17, 2010

Stop the presses, my friends as Sega has made a very special announcement at Gamescom(through Sony’s booth, that is), Eurogamer has the skinny:

Virtua Tennis 4 for PS3 has been unveiled at Sony’sgamescom press conference in Cologne, Germany.

Although it wasn’t officially announced or demonstrated, the next entry in SEGA’s tennis series appeared in showreels for the PlayStation Move motion controller and PS3 3D, implying it will support both technologies.

Tom, reporting live, said it looked “quite effective” in 3D. Watching actual real-life tennis is said to be one of the best applications of 3D TV too, so we can believe him.

Sounds good. Unless there’s no denial from Sega’s part this could be the first exclusive Virtua Tennis title on the PS3.
