Sega Sammy VE Studios is now called Marza Animation Planet!

June 25, 2010

SegaBits reports that the studio responsible for the Sonic Unleashed short film has changed it’s name and it now has a project in the pipeline:

SEGA Sammy Visual Entertainment has announced that they are changing their name to “Marza Animation Planet“. So “Marza” is not the name of the new title they are working on, but actually the name of their studio now.

Marza Animation Planet have just completed a pilot for Toei, their pilot is a CGI adaptation of the Space Pirate Captain Harlock manga. The pilot was directed by Shinji Aramaki (Apple Seed), characters designed by Yutaka Minowa (Ninja Scroll) and written by Harutoshi Fukui (Mobile Suit Gundam UC).

More details will be announced about the pilot in this week’s Tokyo International Anime Fair.

I was hoping for an adaptation of a Sega property, but you never know, but manga fans, especially fans of the classic Captain Harlock cartoon can look foward to this project.

I am writing some really satisfying and amusing little stories for pre school children, which would lend them to animation. The stories are about a truck driver called Tommy and his truck Chuggie. Tommy delivers goods to supermarkets with his sheepdog So far, I have written Tommy helps Mrs Duck, where he saves two naughty ducks playing in the road. The second book Tommy helps farmer Alex to clipp his sheep, and the third book, Tommy takes a trip to France to deleiver some goods, he travels over the water by ferry, and returns under the water by Euro Tunnel. Into the story I have brought in some simple French words.
I have other stories in mind.

I am hoping you will allow me to submit these three stories to you?

    Best Wishes,
    Elizabeth Henderson.

    Dear Ms. Henderson,

I appreaciate your admiration for this news.
However, we are just reporting on this.

Though it appears they are accepting scripts for an upcoming movie.

If you check their website, you may find a way to submit some of your work.
