Valkyria Chronicles still holding strong in the US and Japan.
Welkin Gunther and his Squad 7 have yet to sound retreat or as Gamasutra points out, Valkyria Chronicles continues to perform well on US and Japanese markets:
North America: 1. Killzone 2 (SCEA), 2. Resident Evil 5 (Capcom), 3. LittleBigPlanet (SCEA), 4. MLB 09: The Show (SCEA), 5. Valkyria Chronicles (Sega).
Japan: 1. Killzone 2 (SCEI), 2. Tears to Tiara — Special Edition (Aqua Plus), 3. Senjou no Valkyria — PlayStation 3 the Best (Sega), 4. Demon’s Souls (SCEI), 5. BioHazard 5 (Capcom).
UK: 1. LittleBigPlanet (SCEE), 2. Resident Evil 5 (Capcom), 3. Killzone 2 (SCEE), 4. FIFA 09 (EA Sports), 5. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar).
Killzone 2 again takes top honors in North American PlayStation 3 software sales, as Resident Evil 5 trails close behind. LittleBigPlanet rallies to finish third in this week’s results, while Valkyria Chronicles hangs on at fifth place.
Killzone 2 also makes a big impression in Japan, where it tops the regional charts in its premiere week. Senjou no Valkyria falls to third place, as Tears to Tiara returns to take second after a recent drop in price.
I’m pleased with the game’s sudden pike in popularity and sales. I’m watching the TV show and I’m loving it.
